New Year, New Home!

Though you may not be moving into an entirely new home, there are certainly some great remodels you can do this year! Whether you are looking to hire someone to complete a large remodel yourself, or want to try your hand in some DIY, you can try some of these projects to upgrade your home. Once it hits January, many of us are feeling a bit worn out by the cold, and may have some New Year’s resolutions for the home; cure those winter blues and check off one of your goals for 2017 all in one!

Bold Color

If your home is full of neutral paint colors, it may be time to update this. Painting just one room with a bright yellow or another bold hue can really help make the room pop. Something to keep in mind is that you will want to make sure the trim is modern; with a bold color, a neutral (preferably white) trim in a modern style is a must. As a bonus, this is a relatively inexpensive way to redo a room if you are on a budget!

Lighting Upgrades

One of the easiest ways to cure those winter blues in your home is to make the lighting better! With endless fixture options available, you can find the perfect addition to each room. By finding a great modern fixture to go in your newly painted room, you won’t even worry about the cold temperatures. For older homes, make it a New Year’s resolution to finally streamline the outlet covers and light switch plates to the same color.

Bathroom Remodel

Sometimes, a pop of color and light fixtures are not the only upgrades you want! A bathroom remodel is a great investment in your home, and by making it your own personal spa, you’ll be able to warm up after shoveling. If a bathroom remodel is something on your resolutions list, get started right away; the earlier you begin, the longer you’ll be able to enjoy it!
